Meet Our Founder
Mike Fallis
Owner and Lead Arborist
Mike founded Limbwalker Tree Service in 1999, following five years of climbing trees and running crews in Portland, Oregon, where he became an ISA Certified Arborist. He grew up in Hubbardton, Vermont, and came home in ‘99 to be closer to family. What began as weekend work out of a van has grown into one of the Champlain Valley’s most trusted tree care companies.
What Mike enjoys most about the work is the thinking behind it, understanding why a tree has grown the way it has, what it means for the benefits it provides, and how to help it keep doing its job safely.
He’s especially passionate about planting, which he’s offered as a service since 2005. “It allows us to complete a cycle of birth, growth, and death within tree care," he says, "and helps keep Vermont the Green Mountain State."
Mike also serves on the board of the Vermont Urban and Community Forestry Council, and Limbwalker volunteers with the Middlebury Area Land Trust on maintenance for the Trail Around Middlebury (TAM). He’s also coached boys' varsity soccer at Middlebury Union High School.
Outside of work, you’ll find him in the woods, near a stream, or anywhere that lets him feel like a part of something bigger.
